Illustration Friday: The Blues



So, if I could channel Ray Charles, Tom Waits and Ella, it would probably look a little somethin' like this.

I've got a sore drawing paw today so this is pretty scrappy.

I like this a lot, actually. Nice emotions, gesture drawings, simplicity, and I love the choice of yellow as a backdrop.

I love these drawings so much that I had to see more! I went back and looked at all your Illustration Friday entries and guess what? - I love those also! Especially the self portraits in "MIGHT". Go gorgeous! Agreed on the colour scheme. I think your work is so strong in this way - you often choose a combo which works in unexpected ways! And also agreed on the range of expressions. I love the eyes-closed passion of these drawings. That focus you get when you're lost deep in a great song. Fabulous take on the subject matter.

Okay.. that's your fan club signing off for now! Glad to be seeing a bit more IF work again.
